Music Journalism

Since November 2023, I have taken on the role as a writer and interviewer for Boolin Tunes - A music journalism site that publishes the latest news, reviews, and interviews from a wide variety of small and local talent, as well as prominent, international artists.

Reviews & Interviews

My work as a music journalist centres on spotlighting standout releases in modern extreme metal. Examples of this coverage includes in-depth features on 200 Stab Wounds’ sophomore album, Manual Manic Procedures, Full of Hell and Nothing's collaborative project, When No Birds Sing.

I’ve also had the opportunity to interview funeral doom legends, Bell Witch, discussing the creative process behind The Clandestine Gate, their long-running collaboration with renowned “engine-ear”, Billy Anderson, and insights from their most recent EU/UK tour. This interview allowed me to refine audio editing and dialogue-focused mixing techniques whilst working with challenging source material.

Live Reports

In addition to album reviews, my journalism work extends into live coverage , documenting a range of shows across London’s metal scene. From the slow-burning, atmospheric performances of Esoteric to the relentless dissonance of Napalm Death, I’ve had the opportunity to experience and write about metal at its most delicate and its most extreme.

One of the key events I cover is Desertfest - A three-day festival spread across Camden’s most iconic venues, celebrating the full spectrum of doom, stoner, and sludge metal.

I also reported on Incineration Festival 2025, where I reviewed performances by some of death metal’s most formidable acts, including Blood Incantation, Cryptopsy, and Decapitated.

Across my reviews, live reports, and interviews, I’ve collaborated with editors, photographers, promoters, record labels, and artists; strengthening my communication and professional workflow. Along the way, I’ve continued to refine my audio-engineering skills and develop a clear, adaptable writing style suited to a wide range of music journalism.
